I have watched and examined Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for an Integrated Arts and Humanities Class at Michigan State University. I will be discussing throughout this blog how issues of morality are seen in the first Harry Potter move. Morality according to Merriam-Webster is a literary or other imaginative work teaching a moral lesson. Moral according to Merriam-Webster is of or relating to principles of right and wrong in behavior. There is not one definition that is universally understood by humans for right and wrong behavior. For the purpose of understanding the morality expressed in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone we will define right behavior as behavior that attempts to make someone’s life better. We will define wrong behavior as behavior that is evil.
